Ramashang is a Danish band that has built a reputation over nearly two decades for turning medieval and viking traditions into rowdy, good-humored live shows. Drawing inspiration from nordic history and old European street music, we blend historical – and traditional instruments like bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy, shawms and drums with theatrical antics and a raw, driving energy that gets audiences moving.
Over the years, we’ve become a familiar sight at some of Denmark’s biggest historical festivals — from village fairs to major annual medieval markets that attract tens of thousands of visitors. We’ve also taken our show abroad, appearing at Viking markets, medieval festivals, heritage days, and outdoor cultural events all over Scandinavia, Balticum and Europe.
With over a thousand shows behind us we are the living proof that the music of history sounds best when it’s loud, live, and a little bit mischievous.
